At least we still have the sun

Most Athenians live their lives with the looming uncertainty of financial security, job prospects and an increasingly unstable political climate.
Yet they still continue to be resilient.
The sense of community is ever-present.

People gather in town squares, debating issues, discussing solutions, supporting each other and most importantly to relax.
The squares are full of life.
Kids kicking a football, or doing skids & monos on BMX bikes.
Adults watch, drinking coffees whilst also yelling at the Kafeneion TV, over football scores and politics.

In the middle of the horrid financial crisis, austerity & unemployment, there’s still time to laugh & make jokes…
Ask someone how their day is going, and more often than not they’ll reply with a cheeky smile…

“Eh… I could be better, but at least we have the sun!!”

Shot in the summer of 2016 around various parts of Greece, using various types of film.
